DRG Staff BiographiesLorie DeScala is the Executive Director of Finance and Human Resources. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from San Francisco State University in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Lorie has worked with DRG since December of 1988. Prior to DRG, she worked with Union Carbide Corporation as an Accounting Manager and a District Manager. Lorie also worked with Child Care Coordinating Council as a Fiscal Manager. She has over 24 years experience in finance and human resources. Nancy Jacobson, LCSW is the Executive Director of Clinical Services for DRG. She has a Master's Degree in Social Work from San Diego State University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25 years experience in Medical Social Work. For 10 years, she was Manager of Social Services and later, Social Services/Utilization Review at St. Rose Hospital. She joined DRG in January 2000 as a Medical Social Worker in the field. She became Director of Social Work, and then Director of Medical Management. Lorna Forbes, MSW is the Director of Medical Management. She has a Master's Degree in Social Work from Sacramento State University. Lorna first began working for DRG in May 1988. In 1992, she left DRG to become Social Services Manager for a VNA/Hospice in Washington State. Since her return to DRG in 1996, she has worked in the field in all arenas of Medical Social Work and has had long-term placements as a Case Manager for two Bay Area acute inpatient rehabilitation units. Lorna was Interim Social Services Director at DRG for four months in 2002, which prepared her for her current position as Director of Medical Management. Domenic Ali, PhD is the Director of Clinical Training. He has a Master's Degree in Social Work from Smith College and a Doctorate in Chemistry from UC Berkeley. He has 20 years of experience in Clinical Social Work. For 15 years he worked with HIV+ clients in a wide variety of Bay Area social service settings. He joined DRG in November 2004 as the project manager for the California Department of Mental Health, EPSDT Statewide Review, which he continues to oversee.
